Indiana Basketball: 3 things to watch in exhibition vs Gannon
By Alec Lasley
2. Will Trayce Jackson-Davis Be More Active On The Glass?
As a 6-foot-9 big man, with the athleticism that Jackson-Davis has, the rebound numbers need to be up closer to 10 rather than 1, like it was against Marquette.
Because Gannon doesn’t present a huge front court, with both starting power forward and center standing at just 6-foot-7, this should be a game that Jackson-Davis is able to showcase his athleticism and take advantage.
Regardless of if you start for a power-five school or a small division II school, as a forward you can’t have just one rebound and expect to be super effective. Granted it was just one game, and Jackson-Davis’ first game in an Indiana uniform, it was surprising considering the Marquette starting frontline isn’t super imposing with their size – albeit a front court made up of upperclassmen.
After averaging 9.4 rebounds per game as a senior last season for Center Grove, Jackson-Davis has a tremendous ability to rebound the ball and do it at a high rate on the offensive end of the floor.
With the Hoosiers known struggles from behind the three-point line, having that athleticism at your power forward position is a huge plus and something I look Jackson-Davis to take advantage of on Tuesday.
