1. How Does Backcourt Rotation Look?

Obviously this won’t be the normal rotation that Miller will use come the regular season, but it will be interesting to see what it could look like if both Rob Phinisee and Devonte Green return to the lineup.

If so, the leading scorer from the Marquette scrimmage, Armaan Franklin, will now have a couple other members of the backcourt to compete with for minutes.

In all likelihood, a Phinisee-Green-Durham lineup in the backcourt will get the nod to start, with Franklin being one of the first players off the bench after his play last week.

What will be fun to watch will be exactly how Archie Miller uses all four of his guards and who will be the ball handler in certain lineups. With Al Durham taking on more of that responsibility, it could be extremely fun to see a lineup of Phinisee-Franklin-Durham. With all three being good defenders, that could be a tremendous defensive lineup without giving up any size as Franklin is three inches taller than Green.

Another mix and match that would be fun to see would be Franklin and Green. Though Phinisee and Durham are two of the main ball handlers, giving Franklin as many minutes as possible in the preseason and non-conference at the point guard position would make the adjustment that much easier if he would be needed for spot minutes at the position come Big Ten play.
