1. Adrian Martinez

The Heisman Trophy candidate entering the season has been anything but, and the Cornhuskers have felt the pain of that.

Martinez set all kinds of marks during his freshman campaign that saw him put up 295.1 yards of total offense per game, ranked 12th nationally, while also setting school freshman records for completions, completion percentage, passing yards, passing touchdowns, total offense and total touchdowns.

This season has been a bit rocky, however, as he has missed some time with a knee injury. In six games, the dual-threat quarterback has thrown for 1,244 passing yards, rushed for 341 yards and combined for 10 total touchdowns.

While the Cornhuskers offense has been inconsistent, even with Martinez on the field, his ability to both be a runner and a thrower is a value that would be able to take advantage of a very inconsistent Indiana defense.

With double-digit carries in every game in which he played the entire game, Martinez is averaging over 14 carries a game, which tops the Nebraska roster.

If he is able to go, Indiana’s ability to keep him contained in the pocket will be crucial in getting a victory.
