Indiana Football vs Nebraska: 3 keys to the game
By Adam Childs
2. Keep Feeding Scott
Stevie Scott III was great for the Hoosiers against Maryland on Saturday. He ran the ball 18 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 36 yards, showing how complete of a back he can be.
Scott also had a big game the week before against Rutgers going for 164 yards on just 12 carries. He has shown he can carry the load and the Hoosiers need to keep riding him.
The Cornhuskers gave up 322 yards rushing to Minnesota in their last game. They struggle to stop the run and the Hoosiers need to take advantage. Use it first and set up the pass off of it. Scott has proven he can handle 18+ carries a game and Indiana shouldn’t be satisfied unless he gets at least that on Saturday.
Whether it is Penix or Ramsey starting at quarterback they need to attack Nebraska on the ground. Scott has shown he can get the tough yards and has speed in the open field. He has been a great combination for the Hoosiers and is just a sophomore. The Hoosier faithful are excited about Penix and they rightfully should, but Scott could be a future star.
Use Scott to control the game and the Hoosiers will win this game. Wear down the Cornhuskers defense and they will give up points. Indiana has a distinct advantage with Scott and they need to use him.
