3. Is The End Of Year Devonte What We Get For The Whole Season?

What good is a secondary scoring option if you don’t have a go-to scorer?

That’s where Devonte Green comes into play. The once inconsistent player will be relied on heavily for the majority of Indiana’s points.

So, which Devonte Green will Indiana get? Hopefully the one that showed up over the last month and a half of last season.

With a 15.4 point per game average in that span to end the year last season, Green’s potential finally showed. Whether it be draining nearly any three-pointer he took, or getting in the lane, Green became a very difficult player to guard for opponents.

The main reason? He was moved off of the ball and was focused solely on the scoring aspect of his game.

What will be interesting though is if Green can duplicate this and stretch it out for an entire season. Teams will now have more time to focus on how to stop him, or at least make life more difficult.

Being named a team captain for his senior season, I fully expect Green to have a terrific final year and end up on an All-Big Ten team by year’s end.
