Indiana Football vs Maryland: 5 players to watch
By Alec Lasley
4. Keandre Jones
There is no question that Jones is the leader of the defense and one of the most skilled defensive players in the Big Ten.
The former Ohio State linebacker is six games into his Maryland career and has made the most of it thus far.
With 9.0 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks, Jones lives in the opponent’s backfield and makes life extremely difficult on opposing quarterbacks and running backs. Maryland utilizes Jones in many different packages, giving him the best matchup possible on almost every play.
For IU, an offensive line that has been a pleasant surprise in recent weeks, have given up just one sack with Michael Penix under center, and outside of the Ohio State game with Peyton Ramsey at QB – resulting in five sacks – they have given up just one additional one in the remaining four games.
A key to this game will be whether or not IU lineman Hunter Littlejohn will suit up. Injured against Rutgers, Tom Allen said nothing was too serious but an ankle injury to an offensive lineman could be something to linger for multiple weeks even if they do play on it.
