1. Anthony McFarland Jr

Just as Stevie Scott did for Indiana as a freshman, McFarland did the same for Maryland a season ago.

The Second Team All-Big Ten selection as a freshman, McFarland rushed for 1,034 yards in just five starts, and quickly cemented himself as the running back of the future for the Terrapins.

This season, the sophomore back has had a bit of a difficult time seeing consistent touches on a game-by-game basis, making it difficult to get into the groove he finished with a season ago.

With just two games with more than 10 carries, it has obviously hindered his yardage with just three games over 25 yards. That however, hasn’t kept him from getting into the end zone as he ranks seventh in the NCAA with seven rushing touchdowns.

Still to this point, McFarland is one of the main features of the offense as he has nearly 30 more carries than any other running back (66) and goes for over 5.0 yards per rush.

McFarland is waiting for his next breakout game and with the inconsistencies in the passing attack, he could be in store for a big usage afternoon against the Hoosiers.
