vs UConn (Madison Square Garden) – December 10th

Just like Illinois, this is a game against what could be a fellow bubble team. UConn had some big wins last year and were actually 13-9 before a long losing streak torpedoed their tournament chances, just like Indiana last year.

They look to be in the exact same boat as Indiana this year. A team with not a lot of expectations trying to surprise and make a leap in their conference. They are also trying to make a return trip to the NCAA tournament after long absences.

This is not the toughest game on their schedule but one that could be huge for their resume. Florida State is probably their toughest non-conference game and another game that would be a great win.

UConn is in their second year with Dan Hurley who came over from Rhode Island to turn the Huskies around and he is hoping this is the year he can get them back on track. He has the Husky faithful excited about basketball again after the program had struggled as of late.

This game is being played at Madison Square Garden and is good exposure for the Hoosiers. Getting a win on a big stage could also help with recruiting. Anything to help Indiana get back on track and in better standing nationally is good for the Hoosiers.
