Indiana Basketball: 5 most important players for IU this season
5. De’Ron Davis
Senior De’Ron Davis has had his ups and downs throughout his collegiate career in Bloomington.
After battling through a torn achilles, which he suffered during his sophomore season, the 6-foot-10 center returned last season playing 13 minutes per game and averaged five points and just under three rebounds per game.
His health and conditioning have been a question mark seemingly his entire career, but if the big man can stay in good shape and healthy, he provides front court physicality and defense that the Hoosiers are still thin on, even with the addition of Butler transfer Joey Brunk.
An underrated part of Davis’ game is his touch around the rim and his passing ability. He’s a gifted finisher with the skills to create out of the post, for himself and others.
If Davis can improve his conditioning he projects to be an impact player on both ends but may not have the stats that fill up the box score.
