Indiana football returns to action after a bye week and looks to win the first homecoming game since 2010.

Not only is it back to the field for the Indiana football program, but it is also homecoming, with alumni from all across the country returning to cheer on their beloved Hoosiers.

For Indiana, while Rutgers isn’t anything to stress over, it is still an important game to not only get the momentum going back in the right direction after losing two out of their last three games, but also to get the first Big Ten win of the year.

After a week to sharpen its skills, Indiana turns its attention to Rutgers, a team that is anything but sharp.

Down two QB’s, its best wide receiver who happens to be the best player, and now on to a new coach, the Scarlet Knights head into Bloomington looking to pull off a miracle win.

While Indiana hosted Rutgers just a few seasons ago for its homecoming game, another game the Hoosiers were expected to win, IU was left speechless after a deflating 55-52 loss to the Scarlet Knights.

Looking to get revenge this time around, the Hoosiers completely outmatch Rutgers from top to bottom on the roster.

Rutgers is looking for just its third overall win in the past two seasons, and IU hopes to keep them away from that this weekend.

Though it shouldn’t be a tough test for Indiana, here are three keys to a victory and the Hoosiers finally celebrating on homecoming.
