Indiana Football: Analyzing Hoosiers’ chances at a bowl game
By Adam Childs
@ Nebraska – October 26th
Nebraska football was supposed to be back this year. Scott Frost was supposed to the savior and some were picking them to win the Big Ten West. But then they struggled against South Alabama, lost to Colorado, and were hammered by Ohio State (but who hasn’t). They did beat Illinois, albeit barely, and Northern Illinois easily. To think they are back, though, is a huge overreaction.
This is all good for the Hoosiers as they need to try to steal a win on the road especially if they lose to Maryland the week before.
Quarterback Adrian Martinez is pretty good, but he still doesn’t have a lot of talent around him and they still struggle on defense as they haven’t really found their identity yet.
If Indiana can go in and score, which they should be able to, they can win this game. All they have to do is hold down the Cornhuskers enough to let their offense do their work. Nebraska will make mistakes if you let them and the Hoosiers need to take advantage.
This is not the Cornhuskers teams of old and Indiana needs to take advantage of that. If they lose this game after losing to Maryland it all of sudden becomes very tough for them to make a bowl game.
Something tells me, though, that the Hoosiers are going to get the job done and make their life easier the rest of the way.
Indiana goes into Lincoln and gets an upset victory and their fifth win of the year.
