Indiana Football: Analyzing Hoosiers’ chances at a bowl game
By Adam Childs
@ Maryland – October 19th
Will the real Maryland team please stand up? After two absolutely dominant offensive showings by the Terrapins (one against a ranked Syracuse team), the Terrapins have come crashing back down to Earth. They scored just 17 points in a loss to Temple before getting shut out and blown out against Penn State 59-0. It is starting to look like their offense feasted off of bad defenses more than they were great.
So which team will show up when the Hoosiers travel to College Park? That will obviously go a long way in the Hoosier’s chances of getting a big win.
The Terrapins play Rutgers and then Purdue on the road before they host Indiana. The Rutgers game should be a win but the Purdue game will be interesting. If the Terrapins can get their offense back on track in those games, it will be a tough game for the Hoosiers to go in and win.
The Terrapins will probably be in the same boat as Indiana needing to win this game to really cement their chances at a bowl berth.
This would be a huge win for Indiana as it would more than likely put them at five wins and needing just one more in their final five games.
The Hoosiers will have to find a way to slow down their offense as this is the type of defense they can dominate. The offense will also need to show up because this game could very easily turn into a shootout.
This game could come down to who has the ball last, but I give the slight edge to Maryland because it is at home.
