3. Tiawan Mullen

Where do you even begin with the Indiana secondary? There are so many holes at the backend of the Indiana defense and no matter who Kane Wommack or Tom Allen throw back there, nothing really changes.

One player who has been one of the lone bright spots in the secondary is freshman corner Tiawan Mullen.

The four-star recruit played sparingly in the first couple of games, but with injuries to some of the other players ahead of him on the depth chart, he has been thrust into action in the past few matchups.

Showing his potential at times, he really showed why he was one of the better recruits at the cornerback position in Indiana’s matchup against Michigan State. Not only did he breakup four passes against the Spartans, two of them would have been touchdowns if not for Mullen.

Per Pro Football Focus, Mullen ranks in the top-5 of all cornerbacks in their rankings.

Though Mullen will still make freshman mistakes, and penalties like he did against the Spartans, his upside is way too good to keep him off the field. Let him learn through his mistakes because at least he will be making positive plays, unlike most of the IU secondary at the moment.
