Indiana Basketball: Breaking down the 2021 in-state targets for IU
Caleb Furst
Another Indiana-bred power forward, Caleb Furst is currently the 38th ranked player in the country. The 6-foot-9 Fort Wayne native is excellent around the rim and has solid athleticism. He averaged 18.7 points and 8.9 rebounds a game in his sophomore season.
Furst is not being as heavily pursued by Indiana as Trey Kaufman is, however. While the Hoosiers are still in the mix, Furst has visited Notre Dame and Ohio State unofficially and has taken an official visit to both Virginia and Michigan State. It would appear at this point as if Virginia and Notre Dame are currently winning in his recruitment.
While his talent makes him a target for Indiana, Archie Miller and co. seem to be far more fixated on getting Trey Kaufman in an Indiana jersey.
Furst was offered a scholarship from the Hoosiers all the way back in October of 2018, but as of now there is nothing set in stone for a visit to Indiana, while many other big time programs are receiving visits.
