Trey Kaufman

Trey Kaufman, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Sellersburg, is another big priority for Archie Miller. Currently sitting at No. 2 in the Indiana class rankings, Kaufman is useful in a variety of ways.

Kaufman has a big body and plays well off of both back-to-the-basket moves and dribble drives, and has some floor-stretching ability as well. He is just an overall solid player who succeeds in multiple facets but doesn’t particularly specialize in any single one. He finished his sophomore season averaging 14.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game in addition to shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Indiana will likely need to shore up the frontcourt when Kaufman’s time comes, and the Hoosiers will look to him to help in that regard. Although he’s likely not as much of an impact player as Khristian Lander immediately, he would still be a tremendous addition to the Indiana roster.

The main foes in Kaufman’s recruitment are Louisville and Purdue. Kaufman visited Purdue on September 6, and visited Bloomington on the 13th as well. He plans to also visit Louisville on the 27th of September.
