4. Reese Taylor

I can’t beat up Taylor too much for his play thus far, but his role has become of more importance and he needs to be more reliable.

The former offensive option turned defensive back this season, Taylor has struggled to make the adjustment. Despite being injured throughout camp, Taylor has been back on the field the past two weeks.

Coming into this season Taylor was expected to split time as a backup at the cornerback position, but with the injury to A’Shon Riggins – who has missed the last two games – Taylor has played significantly more that some expected early in the season.

Taylor’s big mishap against the Buckeyes came on a 37 yarder to OSU wide receiver Chris Olave, when he easily beat Taylor over the middle for a touchdown.

At just 5-foot-11, Taylor needs to do a better job utilizing his speed and athleticism in the secondary and be that consistent third or fourth corner for the Indiana defense.
