The Indiana basketball staff has yet to give up on the front court options in the 2020 class, as they continue to stay in contact with one four-star big man.

While Archie Miller and the rest of the Indiana basketball staff are prioritizing five-star big man Dawson Garcia, they aren’t closing any other doors when it comes to possibly snagging another big man for the 2020 class.

Javonte Brown-Ferguson is a name that the Indiana program has been connected to for some time and is name to keep an eye on as the New Year approaches. Currently, the four-star center is in the 2021 class but has been open about him being ’70-30′ in favor of reclassifying to the 2020 class.

Because of his intentions, Indiana has kept him on the radar and will be visiting the Canadian big man this upcoming week, according to Adam Zagoria.

As of right now, Brown-Ferguson has three official visits set for the fall including Texas A&M (Sept. 20), Kansas (Oct. 4), and UConn (Oct. 24). Keeping with his message about a potential reclass to the 2020 class, that would only leave two more official visits moving forward, forcing Indiana to either jump in with two feet or miss out on the possible center.

Indiana has been one of multiple programs to be involved from the get go, making it known they would want him in the 2020 class.. Earlier this summer Brown-Ferguson talked about what Indiana was telling him.

"“They’re saying that they’ve been watching me since the live period in July in Atlanta. They were saying that they liked how hard I played, and they’re very interested in me coming to play in the 2020 class.”"

Brown-Ferguson is a high reward type player if he moves to 2020. At 6-foot-11, he is still growing into his body and frame. His best assets are around the rim on both ends of the floor. His length gives the defense a legitimate shot blocker while his touch around the rim allows him to rarely miss from inside the free throw line.

The Canadian pipeline in college basketball has been increasing over the past five years and with there being a need for Indiana in the front court, Brown-Ferguson is someone who could be a potential game changer to the 2020 class.
