Indiana Football: 3 keys to taking down the Buckeyes
Win The Ground Game
It comes as a shock to nobody that Ohio State is trotting out one of the best defensive front sevens in college football this year. They’ve long had a history of producing physical and talented defensive lineman and linebackers that have shutdown opposing teams’ run games.
This year is no different as they rank in the top-10 (9th) in the country in yards allowed per rush at just 1.9. However, the Hoosiers are not too far behind; they rank 12th nationally in the category allowing a mere 2.1 yards per rush.
Both teams also feature a running back considered to be one of the premier backs in the Big Ten between Indiana’s Stevie Scott and Ohio State’s JK Dobbins. If Indiana is able to establish its run game and hold Ohio State to even just half of its 253.5 rushing yards per game, the Hoosiers have a great chance to compete.
But, if they want to win this game outright, they’re going to need an all around great game on defense. This brings us to the second key for the Hoosiers.
