Indiana Basketball: Analyst gives his take on Hoosiers’ 2020 class
By Alec Lasley
The Indiana basketball program has one of the best 2020 classes in the country as currently constructed.
Archie Miller and the Indiana basketball program have put together a very underrated and talented 2020 recruiting class with the combination of Jordan Geronimo, Anthony Leal, and Trey Galloway. Still in the mix for a few others, the Hoosier have the ability to make it an all-star class.
According to 247Sports analyst Evan Daniels earlier this week, the Hoosiers’ class is a very good one that can still get better.
"“This is a quality class for Archie Miller and Indiana. The three-man class currently ranks No. 3 in the country with three four-star recruits. They filled needs, got one of the breakout stars of the summer in Geronmio, and kept two four-star in-state players home. What more do you want? Now they set their eyes on Dawson Garcia, Caleb Love and RJ Davis. Getting any of those three would be a big deal for the class. Obvious each player is different. They’ve made Garcia a priority, but his recruitment appears to be put on hold to a degree and I wouldn’t expect much movement from him until the spring.”"
Since Daniels’ breakdown of the class, Indiana target RJ Davis has gone in a different direction and eliminated the Hoosiers from his list. However, Caleb Love’s official visit is approaching, and while he seems to be a North Carolina heavy lean, Indiana still has a chance to make an impression on the five-star guard.
The other talent Daniels listed is five-star forward Dawson Garcia. We touched on the importance Garcia would be to Indiana’s 2020 class and fully expect Archie Miller to go all in on the Minnesota native. Garcia just came out and said he will be cutting his list very soon, a list that Indiana is expected to be on.
While Garcia is the lone target remaining the Indiana has a legit chance with as of now, Carter Whitt, a 2021 point guard, could reclassify into 2020 and another guard, Andre Curbelo was just recently offered as well.
