Indiana football and Mike Hart look to continue its great running back success in recent years and remain in the mix for a top four-star RB.

The Indiana football program has been a major player in multiple big name running back’s recruitments throughout the past couple of years, and one of the main reasons why is Mike Hart. The former Michigan running back has been a tremendous asset to the Indiana staff and in turn, the recruitment.

Darvon Hubbard is back on the market after decommitting from Ohio State in February and much like current Hoosier Sampson James – who flipped from OSU to IU – Hubbard has a strong interest in Indiana.

Hubbard is the next star running back on the Indiana radar. The four-star back has a flurry of offers, including the Hoosiers, Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio State, Purdue, LSU, Michigan State, Texas A&M, amongst others.

Though he plans on taking his time with his recruitment, four official visits are expected to come very soon for the 2020 back, presumed to be to the four programs that are prioritizing him most; Indiana, LSU, Michigan State, and Texas A&M.

Hubbard talked to 247Sports about the Indiana program.

"“I talk to these coaches all the time and it’s mostly Coach (Nick) Sheridan and Coach (Mike) Hart. They are telling me they want me to check in with them every week and we are developing the relationship. They said they want to get me on campus this fall so I can see everything they have to offer. I would be interested in learning more about Indiana.”"

The 6-foot back has great agility and vision that allows him to bounce off of tackles and break into the hole. At 195 pounds too, Hubbard is a tough guy to take down, and despite a lack of real breakaway speed, his strength and footwork makes him a terrific runner.

Through two games in his 2019 season, the Arizona native has totaled 268 yards and scored six touchdowns. He also is a great pass catcher out of the backfield and has contributed 196 yards with two more touchdowns.

Hubbard is ranked No. 295 in the 247Sports 2020 class, and the No. 22 running back in the country.
