Indiana Football vs Eastern Illinois: 5 impact players to watch
By Alec Lasley
Johnathan Brantley (Eastern Illinois, QB)
Part of the two-quarterback system that the Panthers run, Brantley should be the lone man under center due to his athletic ability, but won’t.
Last season Brantley combined for 20 touchdowns, throwing and on the ground, and threw just two interceptions. He ran for 310 yards while throwing for over 2,000.
After the offense struggling to find a rhythm with both Brantley and Harry Woodbery seeing time in their week one matchup, I wouldn’t be surprised if Adam Cushing keeps Brantley on the field longer against the Hoosiers as he led the Panthers to all 10 of their points, with zero turnovers.
If Brantley is able to stay on the field for a longer period of time against the Hoosiers, then he could cause the IU secondary a fit with his ability to throw the ball while putting pressure on the front seven with his legs.
