At Michigan State
Michigan State projects to have one of the top defenses in the Big Ten this year, with most of its top defensive players including Joe Bachie, Tyriq Thompson and Antjuan Simmons returning to school. But, they have some questions on the offensive side of the ball where they seem to be running an outdated offense that only produced 18 points per game last season.
Quarterback Brian Lewerke took major steps backward last year as he saw his interceptions rise and completion percentage dip. If things don’t chance for the better on the offensive side of the ball, look for this game to become a slug-fest with neither team showing much of an ability to move and score the ball.
IU should have a tough time scoring against MSU’s defensive front, but Michigan State will also likely struggle against what should be an improved Hoosier defense.
This game could be much more of a toss up than people think.
