2. A favorable schedule to get to six wins

With three non-conference games against Ball State, Eastern Illinois, and Connecticut, teams that had a combined record of 8-27 in 2018, the Hoosiers should continue their out-of-conference winning streak.

While these will be favorable games for Indiana to win en route to six games to gain bowl eligibility, they will need to win three games in conference play.

Rutgers was at the bottom of the Big Ten East Division last year and should be another potential win for the Hoosiers. However, the final two wins needed to reach a bowl game would likely need to come within a group of quality opponents in Purdue, Northwestern, Nebraska, and Maryland.

While this season’s schedule provides Indiana with a good chance of reaching bowl game eligibility, conference play will not be without its challenges as games against Penn State, Michigan, and Ohio State will test the Hoosiers’ toughness.
