The Purdue and Indiana basketball rivalry is often overlooked in the national spotlight, but there is a great amount of hatred between the two schools. Here are your five most hated Boilermakers of all time.

The Indiana/Purdue rivalry is one of the best in college sports. The national media showers other rivalries in attention, such as Duke vs. Carolina, Ohio State vs. Michigan, and Auburn vs. Alabama. However, if you’re from the state of Indiana, the IU/Purdue rivalry is one of the only ones that matters.

There has been a good deal of respect between the two programs ever since Bobby Knight and Gene Keady, two legendary coaches but also two friends, battled for superiority in the Hoosier State. There have also been some contentious moments that have brewed a healthy hatred between the two schools.

Naturally, when a bitter rivalry is established, there are some players who draw the ire of the opposing fan base more than the average player.

This certainly applies to the Indiana and Purdue rivalry, which is why we have compiled perhaps the five most hated Purdue players by IU fans, in no particular order.

Honorable Mention:

Ryan Cline (2015-19)

Dakota Mathias (2014-18)

Robbie Hummel (2007-12)

Chad Austin (1994-98)
