Indiana Basketball: Four-star guard cuts list, includes Hoosiers
By Alec Lasley
An Indiana basketball target included the Hoosiers in his top-8, updated list, keeping the good momentum going for Archie Miller.
The Indiana basketball 2020 recruiting class was slow to pick up momentum but over the course of the past week Archie Miller has seen a lot of progress, and it continued on Thursday when they made the updated list for a four-star guard.
Steward announced his list on twitter.

In addition to Indiana, DePaul, Illinois, Duke, North Carolina, Louisville, Texas, and Iowa State made his list.
Indiana got involved with D.J. Steward’s recruitment relatively early this summer but since, the likes of North Carolina and Duke have jumped in the race. Both programs offered him a scholarship just days after watching him play at the Nike Peach Jam event a couple of weeks ago.
The Chicago native’s recruitment was relatively wide open in the public eye before the event, but after the recent offers, Steward’s Crystal Ball immediately went to Duke, receiving all six picks.
Rivals writer Eric Bossi talked about the possibility of the blue blood offers changing the trajectory of his recruitment.
"“Steward took a June official visit to Texas and has been to Illinois and Louisville. Many others had been involved, but headed into June they looked to be the upper tier. Then in July both Duke and North Carolina offered and now the situation has gotten harder to read.”"
Though he is just a four-star prospect, he has the ability to be a high-impact freshman wherever he goes.
Bossi broke down his game.
"“Steward is exactly the type of guard who has been thriving in the college game. He can play some point at times but is most effective at the two, where he can bomb away from deep or use his above average speed and quickness to elude defenders and create buckets off the dribble with consistency.”"
As of now, Steward has a visit set up to Louisville in September, but will quickly set up other visits to some of the other schools on his list for the fall as well.
