Indiana Football: Top four-star OL target moves up decision date
By Alec Lasley
Indiana football’s top offensive lineman target, four-star Jonathan Denis, moved up his decision date a couple of weeks to later this month.
While it was Big Ten Media Day for the Indiana football program and their time was spent talking to reporters, one of their biggest targets in the 2020 class moved up his decision date a couple of weeks.
Jonathan Denis, a four-star offensive lineman, made the announcement on his Instagram story and later took to Twitter to confirm that his decision date would move up from August 9 to July 27.
Denis was originally a Miami (FL) commit but decommitted from the Hurricanes in October of 2018. Since then he has taken a couple of official visits to Louisville and Indiana. There were reports that he may be taking a visit to Oregon on July 26 but now with the accelerated decision date, that visit may be out of the question.
Denis is a powerful lineman who would be a tremendous commit for Tom Allen and the Hoosiers. Visiting Indiana on June 14, he came away impressed with the program and the atmosphere around the team.
After losing out on Josh Fryar, committed to Ohio State, offensive line has become an immediate need for Indiana in the 2020 class. Currently, the Hoosiers are slated to lose six offensive lineman by 2021 and with just two lineman commits for the 2020 class, there is a lot to be desired form the position.
Louisville, Indiana, and Miami (FL) seem to be the three schools vying for his commitment although he did unofficially visit Florida State back in April.
Denis is ranked no. 343 in the 2020 class by 247Sports Composite rankings and is the No. 14 ranked OG in the country.
