Indiana Football: Five RBs Stevie Scott must beat out for Doak Walker Award

Najee Harris (Jr; Alabama)
Would it really be a legit list if an Alabama running back wasn’t listed? No.
Najee Harris is in store for a breakout year and will likely be a player that NFL scouts rave about come the NFL draft next season.
After only rushing for 783 yards, on 117 rushes, Harris enters as the lead back for Alabama after the departures of Damien Harris and Josh Jacobs. Brian Robinson is the only other returning back with real experience, although he has only gathered 437 yards in his two seasons in Tuscaloosa.
Although Harris has yet to carry the ball more than 13 times in a game in his career, that could come back to benefit him in the long run with less wear and tear on his body.
What could hurt the junior back is Alabama’s passing game, as they return one of the best in the country.
With Tua Tagovailoa as a Heisman candidate and returning four players with at least 40 receptions, including Jerry Jeudy who went for over 1,300 yards last year, the passing game may overshadow the running game, especially with a lack of experience in the backfield.
