The Indiana football running back continues to see his name attached to preseason honors given to some of the best players in the country.

Another day, another preseason honor for Indiana football’s Stevie Scott as he was named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List, just two days after being selected on the Walker Award Watch List.

The sophomore running back is coming off of a terrific freshman campaign which saw him rank amongst the best running backs in the conference, and one of the better freshman backs in the entire country.

Now, he looks to build off of that and become a household name by the end of the 2019 season.

The Doak Walker Award is given out to the nation’s best running back and Scott will have some stiff competition. As one of 72 running backs selected, seven of them reside in the Big Ten.

Four semifinalists return to the list from a season ago, as does the reigning winner of the award, Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin).

Ten semifinalists will be named in early November, with the three finalists announced on November 20. The winner of the award will be announced on December 12, with the trophy presentation on The Home Depot College Football Awards show.

Here are five running backs who pose the stiffest competition to Stevie Scott.
