Two Indiana basketball targets stood out at the Under Armor Association finals and Adidas Gauntlet during the July evaluation period this weekend.

With College basketball coaches having just one opportunity in July to check out the top talent in the country, it was a busy week for top prospects and coaches around the country.

While Peach Jam was the biggest tournament of the week, the Under Armour Association Finals was loaded with talent, and turned in many big time performances. After the long week, Rivals recruiting analyst Eric Bossi announced his All-Tournament team.

One of those players to make the list was Indiana target, 2021 F Trey Patterson of Rutgers Prep School. The four-star prospect has received numerous offers this summer and has become one of the most sought-after players in the class.

Bossi had this to say about Patterson’s play.

"“I didn’t get to see Patterson for quite as long as I wanted, but I saw enough to feel good about the way he played. He’s accepted his role as a combo forward with some inside/out game, was playing with energy and has really started to mature physically.”"

Connecticut, Georgia, Miami (FL), N.C. State, TCU, Villanova, Xavier and Washington have all offered the 6-foot-8 forward in just the last month.

This is nothing new for Patterson however. He was a recent standout at the NBPA Top 100 camp in Charlottesville, VA as he continued his breakthrough spring and summer.

As a sophomore at Rutgers Prep he averaged 19.0 points an 9.5 rebounds per game.  On the AAU circuit, he spends his time with Team Rio, playing a year up on the 17U roster.

Patterson already has a college-ready body, having a great combination of guard and forward skills. With his length and size, he is able to finish above and through most opponents around the paint. While he has a good stroke from deep, he is also a very capable player around the basket, utilizing his great athleticism.

The other Indiana target that was named a standout over the long weekend was Andre Curbelo.

247Sports talked about his game, and their biggest takeaways from his performance this past week.

"“There might not be a more impressive passer in the class of 2020 than Curbelo. The native of Puerto Rico simply sees things on the court that most point guards don’t, and then not only does he see things, but he is also able to make the pass. Curbelo isn’t an elite athlete with elite burst, but he does have a major ability to get into the lane, and he is so adept at changing speeds that he keeps defenders off balance. He shoots it well enough to keep people honest, but it is his feel for the game and playmaking ability that stand out at the highest level. Curbelo is one of the more mature floor generals, and someone who should be a staple in a college backcourt for a long time to come.”"

The Hoosiers are one of many teams that have recently jumped in his recruitment. Names like Illinois, Kansas, Louisville and TCU are also involved.

Curbelo averaged 17.4 points, 4.4. rebounds and 6.2 assists this past week at the Adidas Gauntlet championships and led the tournament in assists.
