Indiana basketball target R.J. Davis went for 35 points his second game which is a Peach Jam high through two games.

In the last live evaluation period this summer, the Peach Jam hosts the best talent in the country with hundreds of college programs in attendance. It is the last chance for college coaches to watch their commits or targets for the 2020 class until the high school season and one Indiana basketball target put on a show.

R.J. Davis has been one of the best players in the entire country this spring and early summer and didn’t disappoint in front of nearly 20 programs, including Archie Miller.

In the third time slot of the early session, Davis and NY Renaissance faced off against Expressions Elite (MA). In a matchup that contained two of the top three prospects in the 2021 class in Terrence Clarke (EE) and Jonathan Kuminga (NYR), it was Davis that stole the show once again.

It was one of the best games of Peach Jam so far, as NY Renaissance took down Expressions Elite 79-76 in overtime. Davis not only was the game-high performer with 35 points, but also the Peach jam high to this point.

Davis’ game was on full display and showed why the likes of North Carolina, Kansas, and Villanova have all put their hats in the race for the 6-foot guard. Shooting 10-of-23 from the field, he was finishing in transition, through contact, off the dribble and in the mid-range. But what is most impressive, is the 46.9 percent three-point shooter on the EYBL season failed to make a single three and attempted just two. He did however go 15-for-19 from the free throw line.

Not only did he score the ball at will, he also chipped in four assists and 10 rebounds, and had a few big boards late in regulation as well as overtime.

NY Renaissance returns to action Thursday night at 9:00 pm ET against Phenom University that contains Jaemyn Brakefield, another Indiana target.
