An update is out on former Indiana basketball guard Romeo Langford and his availability for the Vegas Summer League.

The NBA offseason is in full swing and the Vegas Summer League is getting prepared to host some of the biggest stars of the new era in the NBA.

One star is Romeo Langford. The former Indiana basketball guard was selected No. 14 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics and looks to be a major contributor to the Celtics organization but it may have to wait for now.

According to ‏Adam Himmelsbach, Langford will not be cleared for the start of the Celtics summer league practice, leaving his status in question for the Vegas Summer League.

Langford is currently recovering from the thumb injury he played his freshman season with that required surgery earlier in the spring. The injury was one of the biggest talking points leading up to the draft as many people, including Langford, believing that was the main issue for him shooting just 27.2 percent from three-point range during his lone season at Indiana.

With the Celtics believing in Langford’s ability, there is no need to rush him back for the Summer League if he isn’t fully healthy and cleared.

If Langford is unable to go full speed like reports say, Celtics and Indiana fans will have to wait until the preseason to see him in live action.

The Vegas Summer League starts on July 5 and goes until July 15.
