Former Indiana basketball forward signs new deal with the Washington Wizards fresh off of the start of NBA Free Agency.

The NBA Free Agency season has barely started and there have already been a flurry of huge moves headlined by Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on their way to Brooklyn, but one move you won’t hear about is that of a former Indiana basketball forward.

Two-year pro Thomas Bryant agreed to terms on a new contract with the Washington Wizards, signing a three-year, $25 million deal.

Coming into the offseason, Bryant was a restricted free agent, and just days before free agency began, the Wizards extended a qualifying offer, allowing them to match any offer made by another team. Despite this, they wasted no time and brought the big man back to the capital city.

Bryant was set to be a name on the market that could be a steal for some teams after having a terrific season in which he averaged 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game while shooting 62 percent from the field and 33 percent from three.

In addition, the 6-foot-10 big man set Wizards’ franchise records in field goal percentage (61.6) as well as offensive rating (129.8).

Now moving forward, Bryant steps in as someone who could be the center of the future for a team that still has a lot of question marks surrounding their roster. As someone who started 53 out of his 72 games played last year, Bryant has the experience and looks to be a major impact player in the future for Washington.
