The Nike Elite 100 event for top underclassmen continues to go on this week and an Indiana basketball target was named a standout on Wednesday.

In one of the top events for underclassmen this summer, the Nike Elite 100 camp allows for many class of 2021 and 2022 prospects to be seen on a large stage.

Indiana is one of the states that has a loaded in-state 2021 class with some of the best talent in the country and one of the top players was named a standout for his play so far.

Khristian Lander, the top ranked point guard in the country, was listed as one of the best players at the camp, per 247Sports Scouting Analyst Brian Snow. The 6-foot-1 point guard is one of the better all-around prospects in the 2021 class with his ability to score, defend, and distribute the ball.

Here is what Snow had to say regarding the point guard.

"“Known more for his athleticism and ability to get into the lane, Lander really shot the ball well from three on Wednesday. While he does have a bit of a low release, it is quick and consistent. With that, the ball was going in with consistently. That hot shooting allowed for other parts of his game to shine through, and made him one of the top performers all day long.”"

The lefty is one of the top priorities for the Indiana basketball program in the next two classes as they have put an emphasis on backcourt players. With it looking like no true point guard will be in Indiana’s 2020 class, his importance for 2021 is much higher than ultimately any other prospect.

Lander currently holds offer from almost every high-major program but is being recruited the hardest by Louisville, Purdue, Illinois, Kansas, and UCLA, as well as the Hoosiers.

In a recent interview with the Indiana Sports Beat, Lander’s dad touched on his son’s recruitment.

"“The way things are looking right now, it looks like he is going to be a guy that is ready to play right off the bat.,” Keith Lander said.  “So that’s going to be a factor in deciding what school he’s going to go to, seeing whose already on the roster, seeing what kind of moves they’re trying to make, seeing who is being recruited at the same position.”"

As Indiana’s roster is currently constructed, Rob Phinisee is the only point guard on the roster and would be a senior when Lander would be a freshman. Outside of Lander though, Indiana isn’t going hard after many point guards, but more or less combo guards to play alongside someone like Lander.

Though there is still a ways to go in his recruitment, Indiana is all in on Lander and what he could possibly provide to the Hoosiers.
