The former Indiana basketball forward is coming off of a career year and looks to be a sought after free agent for a few teams in particular.

With NBA free agency set to start on July 1, players can set meetings starting June 29 at 6 pm, and multiple teams having large amounts of cap space for the 2019-20 season, we could be in store for a crazy offseason.

Thomas Bryant is one of the free agents on the market and after his career year with the Washington Wizards, he could also be on the move. Though he won’t be stealing the headlines when he signs, he will be a valuable piece to any roster that ultimately signs the former Indiana forward.

One such team that could be in the Thomas Bryant sweepstakes is the Boston Celtics according to Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports.

The Celtics have suddenly become a big player in the free agent market after reports last week came out that both Kyrie Irving and Al Horford were probably on their way out of Boston. The Irving news was no shock to anyone, but even the Celtics organization was caught off guard by the Horford news. Now, there is an immediate need for a front court player and with the youth movement in Boston, Bryant would certainly fit that mold.

Bryant received three votes for NBA’s Most Improved Player following a season in which he averaged 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists a game in 20.8 minutes. He also set Wizards  franchise records in both field goal percentage (61.6) and offensive rating (129.8) this season.

Bryant is a restricted free agent, meaning the Wizards have the right to match any offer another team makes on the 6-foot-10 forward.

If it were totally up to Bryant, he would love to stay in Washington.

"“It would be great [to stay here]. I love this place. I love the Washington Wizards,” he said. “I love playing with all of these guys. I love playing with Brad. I love playing with Troy [Brown Jr.], everybody. I love the coaching staff as well. Just being here. They gave me an opportunity to play. Why would I want to leave?”"
