Indiana Basketball: Jalen Bridges newest 2020 prospect to be offered
By Alec Lasley
The Indiana basketball staff has continued their recent string of offers, this time extending one to four-star wing Jalen Bridges.
Indiana basketball sent out another offer to the class of 2020 on Monday night, as Jalen Bridges was the newest prospect to receive one.
Bridges is the third prospect in the past two days to receive an offer, and announced the news on twitter.
Though Bridges was originally in the 2019 class, he will spend a prep year at Scotland Campus Prep next season and be in the 2020 class.
On the Adidas Gauntlet circuit, Bridges played with Wildcats Select in the spring and averaged 17.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He also shot 47 percent from the field and 34 percent from three.
Bridges averaged 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game as a senior for Fairmont High School.
The 6-foot-7 and 205-pound forward already has a college-ready body, so having another year to sharpen his skills will only make him more of an impact freshman in 2020.
Holding offers from programs such as Pittsburgh, Xavier, West Virginia, NC State and Miami, Bridges also has a small connection to the Indiana program.
Bridges was AAU teammates with Zach Loveday, a current Indiana target who has seen the mutual interest between himself and the Hoosiers continue to grow.
With the Hoosiers extending an offer to Bridges, he makes it six wings who have been offered by the Hoosiers in the 2020 class, a position Indiana is definitely prioritizing.
Bridges is rated the No. 81 player in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings, and the No. 20 small forward.
