No. 5: Keith Smart (1986-1988)

Keith Smart not only hit maybe the most famous shot in Indiana Basketball history with his National Championship game winner versus Syracuse, but he also had a solid all around career.

Smart averaged 12.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, and won the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award for his career.

While he only played two seasons in Bloomington, he was extremely effective in both.

Named Co-MVP of the team in 1988, Smart is also tied for the Indiana single-game record with 15 assists, which he recorded in a 1987 NCAA tournament game win over Auburn.

Smart continued to represent Indiana as a coach in the NBA, struggling as a head coach with four different teams, but solidifying himself as a solid assistant.
