7. Northwestern Wildcats

Conference: Big Ten
2018 record: 9-5

It was an incredible year for Pat Fitzgerland in 2018 as he led the Wildcats to a Big Ten Title Game and bowl victory.

This year Hunter Johnson, a five-star recruit in 2016, enters as the starting QB after transferring from Clemson and will have a deep wide receiving core to throw to.

Isaiah Bowser looks to continue his play from the end of last season, averaging 108 yards per game on the ground in the final eight games of the season – after seeing just two carries in the first two games.

With a talented group up front on the defensive line and with the linebacking core, they should be able to get to the quarterback at will but after an injury plagued 2018 in the secondary, some question marks still remain.
