8. Maryland Terrapins

Conference: Big Ten
2018 record: 5-7

After an interesting offseason, the Terrapins decided to make a coaching change and hire Mike Locksley, with a 3-31 career record.

Previously an interim coach for Maryland in 2015, he went 1-5 in his six games as head coach, but spent the last couple of seasons at Alabama.

Anthony McFarland Jr. is back for the Terps after setting a school freshman record with 1,034 rushing yards. He also tore up the Hoosiers, going for 210 yards in Bloomington.

Virginia Tech transfer Josh Jackson enrolled this summer and will take over the quarterback duties after two seasons in Blacksburg and a season-ending injury in 2018.

Jackson started all 13 games for the Hokies in 2017, throwing for 2,991 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also had 324 yards on the ground and six touchdowns.
