Indiana Football: Ranking each opponent in 2019
By Alec Lasley
3. Nebraska Cornhuskers
Conference: Big Ten
2018 record: 4-8
Scott Frost’s first season at Nebraska wasn’t as bad as the record indicated, though they were one of two teams in the conference to go winless on the road (Rutgers).
Starting 0-6 on the year, five of their eight losses a season ago came by five points or less, showing their competitiveness in almost every game.
Adrian Martinez returns as one of the top quarterbacks in the country after throwing for 2,617 yards and 17 touchdowns, while also rushing for 629 yards and eight scores. Now a sophomore and he is in the discussion for the 2019 Heisman Trophy.
The Cornhuskers did lose 1,000 yard rusher Devine Ozigbo, but have multiple backs they can use by committee.
While the defense is talented, they are young. If they can play up to their potential, Nebraska could be a sleeper in the West division.
