Indiana Basketball: All-time Hoosiers starting five
By Alec Lasley
Forward: Alan Henderson (1991-1995)
A name that seems to get lost in the shuffle when talking about Indiana greats, Henderson ended up with the highest points per game average for any Bob Knight player, when he averaged 23.5 points during the 1995 season.
Playing in 124 total games in his four-year career, Henderson finished with a career average of 16.0 points and 8.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.
Appearing in the 1992 Final Four, Henderson was named an All-American following the 1995 season, his last in Bloomington.
Henderson led the Hoosiers in rebounding every season at Indiana and ranked in the top-five in scoring, rebound, blocks, and steals, the only player in program history to do so before Yogi Ferrell and A.J. Guyton passed him on the all-time scoring list, moving him to seventh.
A member of Indiana’s All-Century Basketball Team, Henderson still holds the all-time rebounding record in Indiana history.
