No. 3: 2007-2008 (25-8; NCAA First Round)

The first big time star freshman for the Hoosiers in the 2000’s came with Eric Gordon.

An Indianapolis native, Gordon stayed home to play his college ball in Bloomington and had one of the best lone seasons in Indiana history.

Gordon led the Hoosiers to a 17-1 record right out of the gates, averaging 20.9 points per game, but the Hoosiers fell off late in the year, losing four out of their last five games, falling in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Arkansas.

Also on this roster was one of the better power forwards in Indiana history, D.J. White.

White put up monster numbers that year, 17.4 points on 60.5 percent shooting and 10.3 rebounds a game, that were overshadowed by Gordon.

These two led the way but were also helped by Armon Bassett (11.4 PPG, 3.3 APG) and Jordan Crawford (9.7 PPG). Crawford, just a freshman on the 07-08 team, went on to transfer to Xavier where he played one season, averaging 20.5 points per game.
