No. 2: Trey Lyles (2014)

The Indiana star that never was.

Lyles, who had originally committed to the Hoosiers before he had played a single high school game, was an Indiana boy at heart, and that was all he knew.

Spending nearly two years committed to Indiana, making his initial pledge in September of his freshman year and remaining committed until the summer prior to his junior season, once he decommited, it was all but set in stone he would go elsewhere.

He told ESPN when he committed that he had only been considering Kentucky and Louisville since September [of 2013].

Not only did it hurt that he was an original commitment, but the fact that he committed to Kentucky of all schools was a knife in the heart to most Indiana fans.

Playing just one season at Kentucky, Lyles averaged 8.7 points and 5.2 rebounds as part of the platoon system John Calipari implemented that season.
