No. 3: Kyle Guy (2016)

What a difficult decision to swallow for Indiana fans. This should have been a player who would’ve been a backbone for Indiana’s success still today.

Guy picked Virginia over a mix of schools and caught everyone off guard with his commitment.

"“It shocked myself, really, how much I liked everything about Virginia,” said the 6-2 Guy. “The coaching staff, the campus, the style and just everything about it. I waited a day because I wanted to make sure, but I felt the same way when I got back.”"

A Lawrence North grad, Guy should’ve been in candy stripes for his college career.

"“I grew up wanting to go to IU,” Guy said. “My grandparents had season tickets.”"

Guy, who was Indiana’s Mr. Basketball in 2016, just never clicked with Tom Crean throughout the recruitment.

"“I just didn’t really click with Crean…. I got respect for him, but it didn’t really click that he was going to be my father figure for four years.”"

We all know how the Kyle Guy story ended up, with redemption and a Final Four MVP award.

In his three seasons at UVA, Guy finished with averages of 12.5 points per game, 3.0 rebounds and shot 42.5 percent from three.
