Indiana Basketball: Hoosiers to host Florida State in ACC/B1G Challenge
By Alec Lasley
The ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchups were released as Indiana basketball’s non-conference schedule rounds out.
Released Thursday morning, the Indiana basketball program will once again compete in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Per Jon Rothstein, the Hoosiers will play host to the Florida State Seminoles on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
A Sweet 16 team from a year ago, the Seminoles finished last season 29-8, fourth in the ACC regular season standings.
Florida State brings in a preseason team that will look to make another run in the NCAA Tournament as they bring in a top-20 recruiting class and some talent from the year prior.
Despite losing big man Mfiondu Kabengele to the NBA Draft and a stabilizing piece in the backcourt in Terance Mann, the Seminoles return Trent Forest and M.J. Walker, both of whom look to take a large leap forward.
This will be the first matchup between the two teams in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and their fifth matchup overall, with Indiana holding a 4-0 record against the Seminoles. This will also be the first meeting between the two teams since 1992.
Indiana, who is 7-11 all-time in the challenge is 4-4 at home, and is coming off of a loss in the last two seasons to the Duke Blue Devils.
Their last home win came in 2016 when they knocked off the eventual National Champion North Carolina Tar Heels.
With this matchup, Indiana now has notable non-conference games against Arkansas, UConn, Notre Dame, and Florida State. They were, however, left out of the 2019 Gavitt Games, which is the Big Ten against the Big East.
