Some Indiana basketball targets were in action this weekend in the first installation of the Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Game.

In the first matchup of the Indiana vs Kentucky All-Star Games, where multiple Indiana targets were in action, Kentucky’s Juniors took down Indiana despite being down 19 points.

Starting in 1939, teams of the best players from each state, Kentucky and Indiana, are put together and go head-to-head in a series of games throughout the summer.

Most of the players on both rosters have had an extremely busy past couple of weeks and months and All-Star games are always hard to judge the best talent, and that was evident from the game one stats.

Fresh off of their Indiana official visits, Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal were two of the starters for Indiana and both finished in double-digits with 13 and 11 points respectively. Galloway struggled at times to shoot the ball but finished 6-of-14 from the field with 12 of his shot attempts coming from inside the three-point line. He also added five rebounds. Leal was the opposite as eight of his nine shots came from three, finishing 3-of-9 from the field while adding four rebounds.

Another player who remains on Indiana’s radar is Nijel Pack. The 6-foot guard has seen his recruitment skyrocket this spring after his terrific play on the Nike EYBL circuit. That however was not the case in this game as he struggled to find his shooting touch, going just 1-of-10 from the field, finishing with five points and seven rebounds.

Some other notable names that Indiana fans know are Purdue commit Jaden Ivey who had one of the better shooting games, going 5-of-6 for 13 points. Noah Jager, Bloomington South guard and brother of former Hoosier Johnny Jager, added eight points and a team-high four assists.

They return to action tonight at 6:00 pm and will have three more games in the series, all of which will be recapped by Hoosier State of Mind.
