Indiana Basketball: Our post NBA Draft early entree deadline Big Ten rankings
By Alec Lasley
7. Michigan
What an offseason it has been for the Wolverines. Between Jon Beilein leaving Ann Arbor for the Cleveland Cavaliers, to a member of the Fab Five getting his first head coaching job at his alma mater.
To the court though, Michigan loses a lot from last season.
Ignas Brazdeikis, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and Jordan Poole both left early after many thought they would be back for at least one more season. On top of that, Charles Matthews announced he would forgo his final season and head to the NBA as well.
Where exactly does that leave them? They still bring back a much improved Jon Teske, their leader and floor general in Zavier Simpson and a handful of rotational players from a 30-win team a season ago.
With the coaching change, top-50 forward Jalen Wilson re-opened his recruitment and has narrowed it down to North Carolina, Kansas and while Michigan is still involved, there may be too much to overcome.
The main question will be where their scoring will come from.
