Indiana Basketball: Our post NBA Draft early entree deadline Big Ten rankings
By Alec Lasley
1. Michigan State
A Final Four run that fell just short a season ago, the Spartans return a lot from the roster including one of the best players in the country with Cassius Winston.
Matt McQuaid and Kenny Goins, two vital pieces to the success of their season last year have now moved on, and Nick Ward’s decision to leave school early does leave a hole in the middle, but nothing Xavier Tillman can’t fill.
Joshua Langford returns to East Lansing following an injury that kept him out nearly all season, playing in just 13 total games.
The backcourt was already set for the Spartans and the addition of four-star combo guard Rocket Watts only strengthens it. Malik Hall, another four-star prospect, heads to East Lansing as a hybrid forward who will be able to develop under the likes of Tillman.
Kyle Ahrens, who suffered a gruesome lower leg injury in the Big Ten Tournament, returns and will bring the experience and toughness Izzo loves.
Aaron Henry could have a breakout season for the Spartans, and if so, watch out for Michigan State come March, and possibly April.
