Indiana Basketball: Hoosiers hosting two more recruits, ending busy week
By Alec Lasley
The Indiana basketball program is hosting two more recruits on Thursday which will end a busy recruiting week for Archie Miller and staff.
Noting the importance in the 2020 class, the Indiana basketball program has had a busy spring and start to summer.
Hosting a pair of four-star recruits on Thursday, Zach Loveday and Anthony Leal, both of whom are top priorities for the Hoosiers, Indiana is looking for the first commit of their 2020 class.
Loveday is known for his shot blocking, but is also a very skilled lefty on the offensive end. Having a very versatile game, he has a great inside-out game that does stretch to the three-point line, though he is a work in progress from deep at this stage. With his post game being the bread and butter of his game, his size, and above average footwork at his age, allows Loveday to make easy work of most defenders in the paint.
As of now, Loveday is considered to be a Louisville lean, but is also considering Indiana, Michigan and Purdue, among others. The top-60 prospect is a very intriguing prospect and one of the best big men in the country.
For the other visitor, Anthony Leal, Indiana fans are well acquainted with him already.
The Bloomington native has been to multiple Indiana games throughout his high school years and was just recently offered a scholarship from Indiana. Considered to be the favorites to land the 6-foot-5 guard, Indiana has made him a top priority for the 2020 class.
Leal is the top ranked player in Indiana, and ranked No. 82 in the country according to 247Sports Composite rankings. As of now he has offers from numerous schools including Maryland, Xavier, Stanford, Iowa, Butler, and Northwestern, in addition to Indiana. Virginia is one school that could try to sway him away, as they are very interested but have yet to offer.
After conducting an official visit with Leal’s AAU teammate at the start of this week, Trey Galloway, there is a very good chance the Hoosiers lands both Indiana natives.
