Indiana Basketball: Hoosiers expecting official visit from 2020 guard
By Alec Lasley
The Indiana basketball program is expecting an official visit from a top priority in the 2020 class.
According to reports, the Indiana basketball program will play host to a 2020 four-star guard this week.
The start of what is to be a busy week, Trey Galloway will be expected for an official visit to Bloomington from May 27-29, per TheDailyHoosier and Rivals, taking the next step in his relationship with Indiana.
Ranked 127 nationally per 247Sports, the Culver Academy guard has been a top priority for the Hoosiers and has had a terrific start on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit this spring.
Averaging 19.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game thus far, Galloway is also one of the most efficient players on the circuit, shooting 65.5 percent from the field an 38.8 percent from three.
Indiana is amongst a long list of suitors for the 6-foot-3 guard. Involved in his recruitment is Michigan State, Butler, and Notre Dame.
Though Indiana has always been one of the frontrunners, a couple turns in his recruitment as of late have seemingly put Indiana in the driver’s seat.
Michigan and Purdue have long been regarded as two schools that would be able to make a run at the guard, possibly steering him away from Bloomington. With Michigan’s coaching change and Purdue already holding commitments from two guards in the 2020 class, their availability in the backcourt is very slim.
Already having been on campus multiple times, Galloway has indicated that he would most likely be making a decision on where he will attend college before his senior season starts.
A great defender, and gritty wing, Galloway would fit in perfectly in Archie Miller’s system. Able to play and guard multiple positions, he continuously makes winning plays and if his jump shot remains consistent, he will be an impact player immediately.
AAU teammates with fellow Indiana targets Anthony Leal and Khristian Lander, Galloway could be the first domino to fall for Archie Miller and the 2020 recruiting class.
