Matchups are now set for the 2019 Jimmy V Classic, with the Indiana basketball program scheduled to play another historic program.

Announced today, the Indiana basketball program will take on UConn in the 2019 Jimmy V Classic taking place on Dec 10 at Madison Square Garden.

In what was released last week, Indiana will be one of four teams participating in the Jimmy V Classic, along with National Championship Runner-Up Texas Tech, Louisville and UConn.

The Huskies, who finished 16-17 a season ago, will be in the midst of a small roster turnover and look to rebound under second-year head coach Danny Hurley.

Two of the most historic programs in college basketball, both teams have struggled to find a lot of success over the past couple of seasons.

For Connecticut, they will return to Madison Square Garden, a place they are very familiar with spending the majority of their history in the Big East before it restructured in 2013.

Indiana, with a 2-1 record in their history of the event, was last in the Jimmy V Classic in 2014, when they lost to Louisville.

The Hoosiers are slated to play in the Gavitt Tipoff games which is the Big East/Big Ten matchup, the second part of the home-and-home series with Arkansas coming to Bloomington, another big time matchup with the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, as well as their annual appearance in the Crossroads Challenge.

This will be just one of many games that Indiana must win in the non-conference to put them in position to make the NCAA Tournament come March.
